Shelby Cotton

Shelby Cotton was born and raised in Muhlenberg County. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1999 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Shelby has worked as a physical therapist and the Manager of Therapy services at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital for 25+ years. At Owensboro Health she serves on the local Community Health Investments mini grants committee as well as the Community Health Investments large grants review team.

Shelby has been blessed with the opportunity to give back to her community in many ways. In addition to serving on the Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation’s Advisory Council, she is currently a commissioner with the Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission. Shelby has been past President of the Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce, served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and currently co-chairs the Chamber’s Youth Leadership Committee.  She completed the Chamber’s leadership program in 2009 and helped develop the Chamber’s new Adult Civic Leadership program in 2022.

Shelby is married to BJ Cotton and has two daughters, Macy and Kelsie. They attend First Baptist Church in Greenville, KY.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, and cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
